Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Training
What is it?
Originating in Sweden, child psychiatrist Dr. Harald Blomberg took note of the gentle, rhythmic movements that his patients naturally made to self-soothe and move through discomforts. These movements are very same ones we either receive or do throughout our developmental stages in utero and early childhood.
These movements are generated by what are called Primitive Reflexes. They automatically stimulate the nervous system to regulate, develop, and connect in an optimal way for us to function and thrive in our daily lives.
Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Training (BRMT) utilizes these gentle, rhythmic, easeful, and fluid movements to stimulate the nervous system to return to homeostasis - inspiring the body’s natural and inherent wisdom to balance, heal, and function in ways that serve the very best in life.
It is gentle, subtle, and exceptionally effective at treating physical discomforts and dysfunctions, boosting learning and cognition, and cultivating emotional regulation.

What to Expect...
In this day and age, our culture is habitually set in ‘go-go-go’ mode. We can easily become swept up in this fast paced current of activity, and forget to connect with our bodies and slow down from time to time. Using BRMT allows a refreshing and relieving sense of relaxation, grounding, and overall wellness to settle into our bodies and lives.
When attending a BRMT appointment or workshop, we will begin with assessment, taking a clear and concise look at which Primitive Reflexes are in need of nourishment and support for you (AKA Retained Primitive Reflexes). Then we try out some of the movements, either actively doing them or passively receiving them to determine how they will be used in therapeutic sessions and take-home exercises for you.
Families, couples, and friends of all ages are invited to attend these sessions together. Very often families will have overlapping presentations of Retained Primitive Reflexes, so a session that is aimed at helping one individual has the potential to benefit many of their close relationships as well.
At the end of the session, you will be provided with recommended daily exercises and practices so that the benefits of BRMT can continue to build and grow for you and your loved ones. BRMT is about developing and supporting the health of the nervous system, which involves inspired and caring action on a regular basis. Ongoing support will be offered for you to continue and progress in this integrating and nourishing journey.

Anticipated Results…
Experiencing BRMT tends to be enlightening and freeing. Because BRMT addresses the deep and foundational areas of our brains and bodies, the benefits are equally as profound.
Many individuals who experience BRMT feel a relaxation in the core of their being - a sense of ease and grounded presence takes hold and the struggles of daily life seem to dissolve and fade away as if they were never there to begin with.
Physical ailments such as tight calves and feet, low back pain, neck tension, and hip torsion dissipate and improve. Our minds clear and brain fog, anxiety, depression, and cognitive difficulties lift and the brightness returns to our eyes.
Furthermore, emotional regulation becomes progressively easier to maintain and return to. Additionally, learning and cognitive functions are strengthened and enhanced. Even eyesight can improve!
Naturally, as BRMT stimulates the emotional and automatic centres of our brains we can anticipate the automaticity of the results. After a BRMT session, many individuals feel a sense of awe and appreciation for themselves and the inherent intelligence of their bodies and brains. It’s as though the clouds lift and the sunlight shines brighter and brighter in our lives as effortlessly as movements themselves.
BRMT truly feels gentle, caring, innately empowering, and appreciative of each unique individual and their capacity to learn, grow, and heal.
